Agents & collaboration
Claude + Codex in one chat
Bring both agents into one visible conversation, with distinct icons and direct task handoffs.
App version 0.7.934 · Updated
Get started
- Open a Claude or Codex session; both providers must be ready to run on your computer.
- Click Start collaboration or explicitly ask “Bring Codex in” or “Work together”.
- Choose Together, Claude or Codex under Send to.
- Give a concrete division of work, such as “Claude builds the interface, Codex checks the API and then tests the combined result”.
- Follow both senders and their handoffs in the chat. Use End collaboration when the joint task is finished.
You decide when the second agent joins
Collaboration starts switched off. The start button or an unambiguous direct request can activate it. Questions such as “What can Codex do?”, mentions, quotations and tool output do not start another agent. An ambiguous request can show a start option.
A direct assignment such as “Let Codex make the images” is already delivered as the first task when the partner starts. The active bar displays “Claude + Codex · Collaboration active” and the participants’ current states.
One visible conversation, two real sessions
Claude and Codex each keep their own session. IXIOM combines their messages in time order and labels them with the corresponding provider icon. Tools, questions, streaming replies and image previews stay associated with the correct sender.
Together routes your message to the agent you started with, which coordinates the work. Claude and Codex target your next message directly. Both agents can pass subtasks and answers to one another; the handoff list shows pending tasks, waiting for an answer and completed answers.
Bring code, images and files together
With a repository attached, the second agent receives a separate working directory and branch. This allows work such as interface and backend development to proceed in parallel. The coordinating agent receives the workspace details, integrates committed changes and checks the combined state.
Images and files appear as outputs in the conversation, and usable original file paths travel with a handoff. Codex can create an image that Claude then incorporates, for example. Explicitly ask for tests on the integrated result; completed individual parts alone do not establish that the whole product works.
Stop, restart and resolve missing handoffs
End collaboration stops the partner and further automatic handoffs. The shared history remains available. Collaboration is also off after an app restart and needs another deliberate start.
An interrupted delivery remains visible as needs attention. Check the conversation before selecting Retry. If an answer is visible but was not automatically matched to its request, use Forward this answer. IXIOM does not independently replay uncertain old handoffs after a restart.
Collaboration uses your configured Claude and Codex connections. Each participant remains subject to its provider’s model access, tools, limits and usage.
