Get started
- Create an environment with + in the environment bar at the top.
- Name it after a project or topic and choose a color in its context menu.
- Drag environments into order or organize them in a folder.
- Optionally attach a repository through the environment context menu.
- Create sessions inside the environment or move existing sessions there through their context menu.
Keep the relevant work in view
An environment brings a project’s sessions together. Switching environments changes the work shown in the sidebar while other sessions remain available. Names, colors and the order of the bar help distinguish parallel projects.
Environment folders group several environments. Expand, collapse and reorder them to suit your work. The default environment remains a permanent starting point.
A repository for new sessions
Use an environment’s context menu to assign or detach a repository. New sessions in that environment inherit the repository context, and IXIOM prepares their working copy.
Check the assignment shown in the chat or Dev Cockpit when starting a task. Changing environments organizes your workspace; it does not replace a deliberate decision about the codebase an existing task should modify.
Groups, activity and Project journal
Session groups within an environment and folders in the environment bar serve different purposes: a session group collects conversations, while an environment folder collects projects. Both let you reduce the number of visible entries.
Activity and completion indicators help you track the associated sessions. In Project journal, select an environment to review its original requests and replies. An already recorded request keeps its original environment when its session is later moved.
