Settings and appearance

Fit IXIOM to your workspace with appearance, agent, language, access and feature preferences.

App version 0.7.934 · Updated

Get started

  1. Open Settings through the account menu.
  2. Choose a tab, then the relevant subcategory.
  3. Adjust appearance and readability under Look.
  4. Configure programs, connections and session defaults under Agent.
  5. Enable optional capabilities under Features when you want to use them.

Readability and visual style

Workspace, chat and terminal have their own visual options. Choose a classic or glass look, themes, font families and sizes. UI scaling, line height, letter spacing and chat styling help adapt the interface to your display and reading preferences.

Glassy styles include effect brightness and switches for reflections and halos. A calmer preset reduces decorative effects, and a preview shows the result. Background image, opacity, accent color and avatars offer further personalization.

Find the relevant settings

Tabs group related preferences. Subcategories and the section index lead to individual cards without searching the entire page.

Account and Agent
Profile and app access are under Account. Agent contains IXI, CLI accounts, external programs, model providers and the repository instruction text.
Image Studio and voice
Image Studio has its own output folders and processing defaults. Voice and Voice Assistant have separate controls for dictation, playback and live conversations.
Features and About
Features contains optional automation, extras and collaboration settings. About provides app information and release notes.

Set defaults deliberately

Session defaults apply to newly started sessions for the relevant backend. A preset, team role or explicit choice in the session dialog can override them. Repository behavior separately defines how coding tasks are completed.

Interface language and agent style are separate choices. IXI can use your preferred form of address and answer length; Voice Assistant has its own language selection. Configure notification and completion sounds with volume controls. WhatsApp has independent notification tones.

Some preferences follow your account, while others belong to the device. After moving to another computer, check program paths, local services, audio devices and working folders.

Focus bridge for Stream Deck, voice and macros

The focus bridge lets local programs discover and open existing sessions, environments, session groups and tool tabs. Enable it under Settings > Features > Teamwork > Focus bridge. It is switched off by default.

A local macro or Stream Deck can then run a command such as ixiom.exe --focus "Portfolio"; the German --fokus spelling performs the same action. It focuses the running IXIOM instance or starts the app and selects the target when ready. Custom integrations can use a local JSON catalog with request and response files.

The catalog contains readable project, environment and session names. Enable the bridge when you want local tools to use those names. Switching it off immediately removes the bridge files. Global Quick Question is a separate feature: it opens a composer for sending a task, while the focus bridge opens existing workspaces.
